Artist Statement

I was fourteen when I first found out about Mythic Bridge. It was this wonderful thing that came into my life out of nowhere. At the time, I had vague ideas about what I wanted to do, what I loved and what my dreams were. After participating in my first workshop, I had learned what film was, how it worked and most importantly that I loved it. Mythic Bridge helped me realize my immense desire to tell stories through art.
I have spent the majority of my life living in a small town with the same people. Bridge popped the bubble I was living in and showed me a window into the world filmmaking. What’s even better? I got to step into the window and do hands on work with people who knew what they were doing, loved it and wanted to share it with me. I found a thriving community, valuable knowledge, experience and friendship that exists nowhere else.

As a teenager, so much changes in so little time. I can hardly recognize who I was at the age of fourteen. I have grow a great deal since then and have a long way to go. Still, I know that I am becoming somebody who will carry out her goals and pursue her purpose with persistence and care. Mythic Bridge has helped guide me into the next stages of my life as a young woman in the film industry.
Thank you to the Bridgers for educating me, encouraging me and exposing me to film in a way that nobody else could. And thank you for doing the same for so many other people. Mythic Bridge is too good to be true and I am so grateful that it is a part of my life
